President Obama has three serious shortcomings, which have proven disastrous for his administration.
1). He is totally unprepared for the office. There are jobs where you can start with no experience, and learn on the job, but the Presidency isn't really one of them.
2). He's surrounded himself with yes-men, who are just as inexperienced as he is. To learn and improve your performance, you have to find good advisors who you can learn from, and you have to be open to criticism and not take everything personally. President Obama is very proud and overly sensitive to criticism. He's also insulated himself from viewpoints that conflict with his own by recruiting advisors and Cabinet members because they believe in the same things he does, not because they know their business.
3). The third shortcoming of our President is his hardheadedness. He stubbornly clings to his policies even when it's become evident that they're not producing satisfactory results. His redistributionist taxation, attempts to produce growth through government "investment", and his turn-the-other-cheek foreign policy have failed, yet he still refuses to try anything else. As my dear old Dad used to say, "Don't confuse me with facts - I've made up my mind."
